GailPatrick(bornMargaretLaVelleFitzpatrick,June20,1911–July6,1980)wasanAmericanfilmactressandtelevisionproducer.Oftencastasthebadgirlortheotherwoman,sheappearedinmorethan60featurefilmsbetween1932and1948,notablyMyManGodfrey(1936),StageDoor(1937)andMyFavoriteWife(1940).Afterretiringfromactingshebecame,asGailPatrickJackson,presidentofPaisanoProductionsandexecutiveproducerofthePerryMasontelevisionseries(1957–66).Shewasoneofthefirstwomenproducers,andtheonlyfemaleexecutiveproducerinprimetimeduringthenineyearsPerryMasonwasontheair.Sheservedtwoterms(1960–62)asvicepresidentoftheNationalAcademyofTelevisionArtsandSciencesandaspresidentofitsHollywoodchapter—thefirstwomantoserveinaleadershipcapacityintheacademy,anditsonlyfemaleleaderuntil1983.
