Daniil’sfatherisaRussianpoet,philologist,linguist(AlexanderStrakhovlivesintheU.S.,inBoston)andhismotherisapsychotherapist.Hisparentsdivorcedwhenhewasveryyoungandhespentmostofhischildhoodlivingwithhisgrandparents.SincehischildhoodDaniilwasinterestedinmovieandtheatre.Soin1993heenteredtheMoscowArtTheaterSchool.InayearhewastransferredtotheShchukinTheatreSchool.In1996,asastudent,Danieldebutedinthefilm.HeappearedinacameoroleinthefilmbyBorisBlank“TheResistibleRiseofArturoUi.NewVersion”basedontheplaybyBertoltBrecht.Strakhovstarredinthetelevisionseries:“Maroseyka,12″,“TheFifthCorner”,“AlwaysSayAlways”,“Brigade”,“Women’slogic-2″,“ChildrenoftheArbat”,“TheLoveTalisman”,“StormGate”andmanyothers.DaniilbecamewidelyknownafterhisroleoftheyoungStirlitz(SovietspyMaksimIsaev)intheTVseriesbySergeiUrsulyak“Isayev”(2009).Daniilalsostarredinseveraltheatricalproductions:TrainStationforThree,ThePostmanAlwaysRingsTwice,AnIdealHusbandandWarsawMelody.In2000StrakhovmarriedfellowactressMariaLeonova.
