IsaacLeeHayesJr.(August20,1942–August10,2008)wasanAmericansinger-songwriter,actor,voiceactorandproducer.HayeswasoneofthecreativeforcesbehindtheSouthernsoulmusiclabelStaxRecords,whereheservedbothasanin-housesongwriterandasasessionmusicianandrecordproducer,teamingwithhispartnerDavidPorterduringthemid-1960s.HayesandPorter,alongwithBillWithers,theShermanBrothers,SteveCropper,andJohnFogertywereinductedintotheSongwritersHallofFamein2005inrecognitionofwritingscoresofsongsforthemselves,theduoSam&Dave,CarlaThomas,andothers.In2002,HayeswasinductedintotheRockandRollHallofFame.[2]
