RobertLee(born1914)isaretiredChineseactorbasedintheUnitedKingdom.BorninTianjin,hearrivedinEnglandtostudy,receivingabachelor'sdegreeinhistoryfromTrinityCollege,Cambridge.HethenworkedatseveralChineseandJapaneserestaurantsbeforebeingencouragedbyfriendstobecomeanactor.Leeplayedsupportingrolesinmanyfilmsandtelevisionprogrammesthroughoutthe1960s,1970sand1980s,andwasfrequentlycalleduponwheneveraproductionrequiredanEastAsiancharacter.HisfilmappearancesincludeYouOnlyLiveTwice(1967)andHalfMoonStreet(1986),andhistelevisionappearancesincludeTheAvengers,TheChineseDetectiveandTheBill,buthisbestknownroleisasTarōNagazumi,theJapanesebusinessexecutiveandEnglishlanguagestudent,inthesitcomMindYourLanguagefrom1977to1979.Leeretiredfromactingin2010.Hehasnevermarried,citingmarriageina1984interviewas"Toomuchresponsibility",andlivesinaflatinHampstead,northLondon.
