MelBlanc(May30,1908–July10,1989)wasanAmericanvoiceactorandcomedian.Althoughhebeganhisnearlysix-decade-longcareerperforminginradiocommercials,BlancisbestrememberedforhisworkwithWarnerBros.duringthe"GoldenAgeofAmericananimation"(andlaterforHanna-Barberatelevisionproductions)asthevoiceofsuchwell-knowncharactersasBugsBunny,DaffyDuck,PorkyPig,SylvestertheCat,TweetyBird,FoghornLeghorn,YosemiteSam,WileE.Coyote,WoodyWoodpecker,BarneyRubble,Mr.Spacely,SpeedBuggy,CaptainCaveman,Heathcliff,SpeedyGonzales,ElmerFuddandhundredsofothers.Havingearnedthenickname“TheManofaThousandVoices,”Blancisregardedasoneofthemostinfluentialpeopleinthevoice-actingindustry.Atthetimeofhisdeath,itwasestimatedthat20millionpeopleheardhisvoiceeveryday.
