TorillKove(born1958)isaNorwegianbornCanadianfilmdirectorandanimator.Shewonthe2007AcademyAwardforAnimatedShortFilmforthefilmTheDanishPoet,co-producedbyNorway'sMikrofilmASandtheNationalFilmBoardofCanada.BorninHamar,inthesouthofNorwaynearOslo,KovehaslivedinMontreal,QuebecinCanadasince1982.ShemovedtoMontrealtocontinueacademicstudiesinurbanplanningatConcordiaUniversityandshegotamasterdegree(MUP89')inMcGillUniversityandlaterchangedhermajortoanimation.HerfirstacademyAwardnominationwasforMyGrandmotherIronedtheKing'sShirts(2000),inspiredbythestoryofherowngrandmother,whoactuallyironedtheshirtsofNorway'sKingHaakonVIIformanyyears.Inadditiontodirectingandanimatingshortfilms,shehasalsoillustratedseveralchildren'sbooks.HerfilmsTheDanishPoetandMyGrandmotherIronedtheKing'sShirtswereincludedintheAnimationShowofShows.
