TomVolfisaphotographerandfilmmaker.HisworkasadirectorspreadsfromfilmingfortheOperathroughfashionadvertisingandinstitutionaldocumentariesfortelevisionbroadcastandinternationalcommunication,suchasOECD.Hehaslongcollaboratedwithpublishinghousestopromotebookreleases,andwithseveralshowsforwhichhedirectedbroadcastsandEPKs.Asaphotographerhisinterestgravitatestowardsvintagefilmphotography,usinglegendarycamerassuchasRolleiflexandHasselblad.Hisphotographsforfashionhavebeenpublishedinseveralmagazines,andtwoexhibitionstookplaceinParispresentinghisworkfromTibetandtheNorthPole.Since2013,hestartedamajorprojectonMariaCallas,travelingtheglobetouncovernewmaterialandlostarchives.HehasmetaboutthirtyofCallas’closestfriendsandcolleagues,withwhomhefilmedover60hoursofinterviews,andgatheredatremendousamountofpreviouslyunseenmaterial.Hisfilmisdueforreleasein2017incommemorationofthe40thanniversaryofCallas’passing.
