WilliamBlakeCrouch(bornOctober15,1978)isanAmericanauthorbestknownforhisWaywardPinesTrilogy,whichwasadaptedintothe2015televisionseriesWaywardPines.CrouchwasbornnearthetownofStatesville,NorthCarolina,in1978.HeattendedNorthIredellHighSchoolandtheUniversityofNorthCarolinaatChapelHill,[1]graduatingin2000withdegreesinEnglishandcreativewriting.Crouchpublishedhisfirsttwonovels,DesertPlacesandLockedDoors,in2004and2005.HisstorieshaveappearedinElleryQueen'sMysteryMagazine,AlfredHitchcock'sMysteryMagazine,Thriller2,andotheranthologies.In2016,hereleasedthenovelDarkMatter.Crouch'sWaywardPinesTrilogy(2012–14)wasadaptedintothe2015televisionseriesWaywardPines.[3]Anotherwork,GoodBehavior,premieredasatelevisionseriesinNovember2016.In2019,Crouchreleasedanothersci-finovel,titledRecursion,tocriticalsuccess.In2020,CrouchbeganworkingonascreenplaytoadaptDarkMatterintoafeaturefilmforSonyPictures.
