DuringschoolKalymnioswantedtobecomeanactress.Whenshedirectedherfirstschoolplay,shethoughtthatitwasmorefuntoworkbehindthescenes.Sheenjoyedtoseehowitallcametogetheranddecidedthatshewantedtobecomeadirector.In2002shegraduatedfromBournemouthUniversitywithadegreeinTVandVideoProduction.[1]AfterthisshewonaplacementattheBBCDirector'sAcademy.Shelaterdescribeditasagreatlearnexperience.[2]CareerEditKalymnioswasemployedasarunneratChildren'sBBC.DuringherfouryearsatChildren'sBBCsheworkeduptoanAssistantProducer.Whileshewasworkingthereshealsodirected,producedandwrotetheshortfilmMoreThanaJob'sWorth.[3]In2007KalymniosstartedtodirectepisodesoftheTVseriesHollyoaks.Until2009shedirected13episodes.From2008–2012Kalymniosdirected7episodesoftheHollyoaksspinoffHollyoaksLater.[4]In2011KalyminosdirectedtheBeingHumanSpinOffBecomingHuman.[5]ThisseriesbroughtheraBAFTACymrunominationforDigitalCreativityanGames[6]andaBanffRockieAwardnominationforBestWebseries–Fiction.[7]OtherseriesthatKalymniosdirectedwere:Seacht,TheCut,EastEndersandWaterlooRoad.In2015shedirectedthemovieClevelandAbduction.[8][9]
