ErrolLeslieThomsonFlynn(20June1909–14October1959)[1]wasanAustralian-bornAmerican[2]actor.[3]HewasknownforhisromanticswashbucklerrolesinHollywoodfilmsandhisplayboylifestyle.FlynnflewwithAadlandtoVancouveron9October1959,toleasehisyachtZacatomillionaireGeorgeCaldough.On14October,CaldoughwasdrivingFlynntotheairportwhenFlynnfeltill.HewastakentotheapartmentofCaldough'sfriend,Dr.GrantGould,uncleofpianistGlennGould.Apartyensued,withFlynnregalingguestswithstoriesandimpressions.Feelingillagain,heannounced"Ishallreturn"andretiredtoabedroomtorest.Ahalfhourlater,Aadlandcheckedinonhimanddiscoveredhimunconscious.Flynnhadsufferedaheartattack.AccordingtotheVancouverSun(16December2006),"WhenErrolFlynncametotownin1959foraweek-longbingethatendedwithhimdyinginaWestEndapartment,hislocalfriendsproppedhimupattheHotelGeorgialoungesothateveryonewouldseehim."Thestoryisamyth;followingFlynn'sdeath,hisbodywasturnedovertoacoroner(GeorgeBrayshaw),whoperformedanautopsy,andreleasedhisbodytohisnextofkin.ErrolFlynnisinterredinForestLawnMemorialParkCemetery,inGlendale,California.Bothofhisparentssurvivedhim.
