JonathanStephenRossisanEnglishtelevisionandradiopresenter;bestknownforpresentingtheBBCOnechatshowFridayNightwithJonathanRossduringthe2000s.RossalsohostedhisownradioshowonBBCRadio2,andactedasafilmcriticandpresenteroftheFilmprogramme.AfterleavingtheBBC,RossthenbeganhostinganewchatshowonITV,TheJonathanRossShow.OtherregularroleshaveincludedbeingaregularpanellistonthecomedysportsquizTheyThinkIt'sAllOverandbeingaregularpresenteroftheBritishComedyAwards.Rossbeganhistelevisioncareerasaprogrammeresearcher,beforedébutingasatelevisionpresenterforTheLastResortwithJonathanRossonChannel4in1987.Overthenextdecadehehadseveralradioandtelevisionroles,manythroughhisownproductioncompany,ChannelX.In1995hesoldhisstakeinChannelX,andembarkedonacareerwiththeBBC.In1999,RosstookoverpresentingtheFilmprogrammefromBarryNorman,andalsobeganpresentinghisownradioshow,whiletwoyearslaterhebeganhostingFridayNightwithJonathanRoss.Forthechatshow,RosswonthreeBAFTAawardsforBestEntertainmentPerformance,in2004,2006and2007.By2006RosswasbelievedtobetheBBC'shighestpaidstar.In2005,RosswasmadeanOfficeroftheOrderoftheBritishEmpire(OBE)forservicestobroadcasting.[1]Rosshasbeeninvolvedincontroversiesthroughouthisbroadcastingcareer.[2][3]Asaresult,in2008hewroteasemi-autobiographicalworktitledWhyDoISayTheseThings?,detailingsomeofhislifeexperiences.
