KonstantinEduardovichBronzit(b.April12,1965inLeningrad)isaRussiananimatorandanimationfilmdirector.HeisagraduateoftheSt.PetersburgRepinInstituteofFineArtin1983.Heworkedasanartist-animatorattheanimatedfilmstudioLennauchfilm(StudioofPopularScienceFilms),whichcreatededucationalanimations.Itwastherethathecompletedhisfirstfilm,Merry-Go-RoundorTheRound-About(Карусель,Karusel),in1988.In1992,hegraduatedfromtheV.MukhinaLeningradHigherArtandIndustrialAcademyandin1994fromthe"HigherCoursesinScriptwritingandDirectinginMoscow"underthetutorshipofFyodorKhitruk.From1993-1995heworkedasascriptwriter,directorandanimatorattheMoscowAnimationStudio"Pilot",wherehecreatedseveralshortfilms.From1996-1999heworkedatthestudioPozitivTV.In1999hecompletedhisshortfilmAttheEndsoftheEarth,whichwasaggressivelypushedaroundthefilmfestivalcircuitbytheFrenchdistributorFolimage,eventuallygatheringnearly70awards.Since1999hehasworkedatMelnitsaAnimationStudio,whereheservedasartdirectorintheprojectsAdventuresinEmeraldCity(1999–2000)andLittleLongnose(2003).In2004heservedasthedirectoroftheanimatedfeaturefilmAlosha.AccordingtoBronzit,theveryshorttimeframe(onlyayearwasgiventothemtocompletethefilm)forcedhimtowritethescriptatthesametimeasthefilmwasbeinganimated.ThefilmwasasuccessinRussia,andspawnedanothertwofilmsbydifferentdirectorsinthesamevein.His2007shortfilmLavatoryLovestorywontheBestScenarioAwardatthe12thOpenRussianFestivalofAnimatedFilmandgotthe3rd-bestratingamongthejuryandisnominatedforanAcademyAwardforAnimatedShortFilmin2009.Hisfilm,AtTheEndsOfTheEarth,wasincludedintheAnimationShowofShows.
